Western Wednesday #69

I got this great email from a reader Tammy M– and if you’ve read SADDLED AND SPURRED, you know what she’s talking about and what a great practical joke this is:

**I have a friend that ropes goats in the round-up club. Another friend has fainting goats. Well, some of us ladies got together and brought in a goat for her. She and her horse froze in their tracks when that goat fell over in the arena like it was dead. It took her a few minutes to figure out what had happened. Everyone in the stands and the arena was laughing so hard.**

Here’s a pic of a fainting goat I found online…

I so understand the point of this picture. I tried to explain the concept of the story to my daughter, but I think she needs to read the book to fully ‘get it’. Thanks for the chuckle.

LOL. I really loved that part in the book it made me laugh so hard, in fact I think it was my favorite part. I’ve never seen a fainting goat, but after seeing this picture I can totally believe that you would think it was dead if you didn’t know better 🙂 Thanks for sharing.

p.s. are you and Roni Loren friends? Because she referenced the fainting goats in her book Crash Into You and I couldn’t help but think of Saddled and Spurred 🙂

I was laughing so hard reading that part I was crying and my boyfriend thought I was crazy, he didn’t get it when I tried explaining it to him. Now I’m giggling again thinking about it.
