Western Wednesday….Dear Old Man Winter:

April 20, 2011

Dear Old Man Winter:

Please take a hike. We’re sick of you. We’re really sick of snow, snow and more snow. And what’s up with the ice on my windshield the last three mornings? I’d like to put away my window scraper and my shovel. Have you looked at a freakin’ calendar? IT’S THE MIDDLE OF APRIL, old man. It’s time to pack up and head out.

Sincerely sick of winter in South Dakota —

L~

Soo agree. I think someone pissed off Mother Nature. 9″ of heavy wet snow this morning and it doesn’t sound like it is going to disappear fast either. The Easter Bunny is probably thinking WTH…..Bring on the warmer weather please

The South Dakota springs are almost harder to bare than the South Dakota winters. By March I am so over cold and snow. But I have to say this year we have had more nice spring days than in the last few years. We have daffodils, tulips, and crocus blooming in the Northern Hills in April. It’s almost unheard of before May. And last year the peonies didn’t even bloom until July. So I’m taking this little bit of winter in stride. As long as we don’t have to hunt Easter eggs in the snow!

so now would not be the best time to tell you we are having temps in the high 80’s and sunshine….you should move down here 😉 BUT we are just a few weeks away from temps in the 100’s with 100% humidity AND the start of Hurricane season :/

Yes, we arrived in SD yesterday for the summer. It is way too chilly, woke up with frozen water hose and ice on our truck windshield. Warmer temps are coming soon right?

First off all, thanks for the best elevator ride of my life at RT. I am in Northern Calif. and it is only 60 degrees and cold and windy and they say rain for Easter. We are packing up the motorhome and going to ride it out in the mountains.

And to think that I’m possibly heading to Wyoming to get my BA in fine arts soon. I have NEVER experience winter before ’cause Southern California DOESN’T have Winter/Snow just alot of rain and it’s dry. This might prove to be interesting experience for me…

It could be worse. Right now in central Texas it is 95 for highs and we are 12 inches behind in rain since October. It already looks like August and is only getting worse. We’d be happy to take some of your snow right now. 🙂
