Saturday Surprise — Happy 4th of July Weekend!

July 3, 2021

Hey ho peeps, hope you’re all keeping cool in this insane heat wave that’s rolled across North America!

I know this is supposed to be my monthly wrap-up post, but as I’ve had this little cutie here ALL week (as well as her parents!) I’ve been occupied with fun family stuff so the post will go up next week with a contest πŸ™‚

Everyone here in the US….have a fun, happy, safe holiday weekend! I’m super excited too, because our youngest daughter and her husband are also here from Texas. Lots of much needed family time.

Anyone have big plans this weekend?

How wonderful you get to spend family time!
Nothing on hand for me but keeping the dogs calm, family out camping.

She’s a cutie! It’s so nice when we can spend time with family who don’t live in the immediate area.
This is the first time since I was probably 22 when I get to see all my family on the 4th. After living away from them for so many years, I’m now in the same state and everyone lives within 1 1/2 hours from each other. Everyone is coming to my place tomorrow to help me celebrate my July 4 birthday. I’m providing chicken and pork and everyone else is bringing a side dish. I probably won’t sleep much tonight thinking about how much fun it’s going to be with my mother, sister, brother-in-law, niece, nephew and their spouses, plus my niece’s adorable 15 month old son.

Enjoy! I’m in Las Vegas and we’ve been over 105 every day for the last couple of weeks, I will be staying inside enjoying the a/c and keeping my dog safe since the fireworks scare him. Thank God for his RX of Sileo it really calms him when the fireworks are going off.

My 88 year old mother requested my whole family…all 25 of us…get together tomorrow for the first time since Christmas of 2019. Lots of birthdays and holidays to catch up on! Can’t wait!

Thursday was Canada Day. Being from Quebec originally, it’s not as big a deal as other provinces and this year I took time to reflect on Canada. Many non-Indigenous people are taking a look at our colonial past and the not distant past. Combined with the pandemic it was extremely muted.

Didn’t do much cause it was hot. Hotter than normal and humid, but not crazy over 100 and humid hot.
