Ode to…Old Gringo Cowgirl Boots

November 4, 2010

I have a thing for cowgirl boots. A big thing. Some women have a shoe fetish. Me? A boot fetish. Although I have different brands, the brand I come back to most often is Old Gringo. The boots fit me perfectly. Every time. So these are some of the ones I’ve been drooling over lately. Look at the rhinestones on these babies!

And aren’t these the most shocking shade of pink? (I actually have these in red)

And if you like purple, and flowers, well there is this pair:

These are named Dakota, so I do believe I NEED this pair — but the weird thing? When I was a kid, my dad had a pair of boots sort of like these and I made fun of him endlessly, because I thought they were SO ugly. How tastes change, huh? And Dad, to show there are no hard feelings, you could totally buy these for me and say “I told you so” as many times as you want 🙂

Talk about funky, who would think of putting these two colors together? Why the fab Old Gringo company of course!

These are kind of an ugly color, but campy enough I’d wear them.

Like your boots on the plain side? Try these. I feel the need to point out this style is called Wyoming, and since I set my books in Wyoming, yep, I do believe I need a pair.

And I love the colors and mix of flowers on traditional a traditional pair like these:

But the creme de le creme? Top o’ the line? The ones riding the top of my leaderboard? These. Oh. My. God. They are hand tooled. That’s all that needs said, right? Please Santa, I’ve worked hard this year, I’ve been a good girl — sort of — make my Christmas wishes come true by putting a pair of these under the tree on Christmas morning 🙂

Why do I see Keely McKay wearing most of those boots? I still have a pair that I bought with one of my first paychecks. They are brown with suede butterfly inlays. I admit I don’t wear them often but they sure are pretty! I have a niece who worked for Lucchese boot company for years, you should see her collection!

That last pair is absolutely positively gorgeous, and I say if Santa doesn’t get them for you, buy them for yourself!

Lorelei, you’ve been a very, very good girl this year — book wise at least — and deserve all the gorgeous cowboy books your little heart desires. And that last pair is brilliant – better than any Manolos.
