COWGIRLS DON’T CRY and SLOW RIDE — release day!!

November 9, 2010

It’s finally here, release day for the next installment in the Rough Riders series! And today is a two-fer — a free read short story AND a full length novel 🙂 The books are discounted today at My Bookstore and More, and they carry EVERY digital format if you’re looking for a format you cannot find anywhere else. All the buy links are on the Rough Riders page.

For all of you who’ve contacted me, yes, the books are finally up on amazon.com — and yes, amazon.com did drop the price of SLOW RIDE today from the .99 it was yesterday to 0.00 I’ve been promising.

As of ten minutes ago, the books were NOT listed on barnesandnoble.com or borders.com — that doesn’t mean they won’t be. I know for a fact my publisher sent the digital formatted copies of the books, it’s up to the vendors to post them.  So nag your favorite online bookstore to get on the ball!

Here’s another look at the fabulous cover for COWGIRLS DON’T CRY — I so love love love this cover, it IS Jessie and Brandt.

And when we talked about doing a brand new, never before seen, free read set in the Rough Riders world, it was a no brainer for me to choose Keely McKay and Jack Donohue. I had such a great time writing their story, and I had a sneaking suspicion that Jack had something up his tux sleeve regarding their honeymoon, so it was fun to take a peek at what went down after their wedding.

Got them both at 2am for Kindle….Finished Cowgirls Don’t Cry by 7am…Loved the ending..It should make for some intresting story lines in the coming books. Can’t wait for Chase’s story…Cant wait for someone to tame that playboy, He seems Wilder than Colby was. Ben & his perfect bachelor pad intrigue me…Would be a cool to see a single mom come and send that into chaos.

Sooo, since I’m a total nightowl, I bought the book around four in the morning… and was totally blown away yet again! (To be honest, though, I didn’t know what to read first, Slow Ride or Cowgirls Don’t Cry because come on, a two-for-one. Are you kidding me? It was like an explosion had gone off in my head and I just couldn’t wait to dive in.) My God, it still totally blows my mind with how you come up with these storylines – these sexy, tear-jerking, knee-weakening, romantic and realistic storylines. Yes, there is some seriously f*ck-hot sex, but there’s also reality, coming to terms with things, learning to let go and finally making peace with things and learning to love who you are.

Jessie and Brandt’s story was far better than what I could have ever imagined. It was so easy to fall in love with the characters and after the sneak peek of them in Raising Kane (you sneaky devil, you) I was so excited to see where they would go from there and how they would get together. And Landon was a pleasant surprise that I could easily picture in my head and I absolutely loved the camparison to the relationship between Jessie and Brandt to Skylar and Kade’s. And the bitterness that Casper emitted and where it stemmed from? An A-f*cking-plus, Lorelei. Seriously. Your writing is like heroin, only better and I can’t wait to see what you come up with next. 😀

Oh, congrats on being number 1 & 2 on the MB&M list and on these releases. You must be just as excited – if not more – as us readers for this. Now, I have to wait for the print release. Oi, still such a tease. I love it.

I downloaded them both this morning before work (work which seriously gets in the way of my reading addiction!) — can’t wait to get home, particularly after reading what Jennifer and DJ have just said. I’m never disappointed though — roll on 5:00 p.m.

ARRGGH!! I finally broke down and got SR off MBM, but goodness, I’m not a tiny print reader, so I have now been harrassing the BN folks to get on the ball so I can get CDC! Lorelei, what can I say… you have rocked it again! Keely may be right, Jack can be ‘such a girl’, but GOD, he’s a perfect fit for her! Thanks for your brilliant writing!

Sent Barnes & Noble an email request the eBooks be posted. Also routinely searching Nook shop in case they track author searches. All you B&N users do the same! Anxiously awaiting and thanks for the free read.

I bought both books at midnight, and had read through them by 3 am…never mind that I had to be up at 6:30 am for work. I loved CDC, and I was so disappointed when I got to the end. I really wanted to keep on reading to see what the boys will do now that the dads have retired.

I’ve emailed B&N several times. I got a generic email saying: Ultimately, it’s the publisher’s call whether to offer a title in digital format. Sometimes, publishers decide not to offer an digital version, even if (or especially if) a book is popular in print. For this reason, some very popular books and series are not yet available. But we are committed to bringing you the best selection of NOOKbooks anywhere.

You can download free Kindle apps for BlackBerry, Andriod, Iphone, PC, and Mac for free. Then you wouldn’t have to wait until they came out in paperback. I do have a Kindle, but I also use the PC and BlackBerry apps all the time.

I read Slow Ride during class today…great story. That little AJ and Cord moment made me laugh. Cowgirls Don’t Cry was amazing as well…not my absolute favorite in the series, but still a wonderful novel. I can’t wait for the next ones to come out!

Is anyone else having problems with MBaM? I can’t get my credit card to work and I have tried two different cards but I keep getting an error message. There is no explanation of what the error message means so I can’t fix it. I have not had this problem before. Have sent emails to MBaM and Samhain but haven’t heard anything. I am desperate to read Cowgirls Don’t Cry so am going crazy because I can’t get it!!!

I love both books. I have already finished reading them and can’t wait for the next one. I wish you could write faster but understand why that’s not possible I will just have to reread the Rough Riders series (again) to get my fix. Any hints on who the next book will be about, I’m going to guess Ben or Chase. But then again it could be anyone and I’m ok with that I so can’t wait for your next book to come out.

April, the next book is Chase, Chasing Eight, in June 2011 and then Tell, Kissing Tell, in November of 2011. So, that leaves Bennett and Dalton to finish up all the McKays from this 4th generation, in 2012, and I do not think that LJ has released the titles for those books yet. I am assuming that all the West cousins, will be featured in the WWB series, but LJ has said that this series has been suspended for now, but I am hoping that she comes back to it. I would also love to see books for Cam’s friend, Brock, from SHBAC, and Jack’s brother, Justin, who was Keely ex-lover, and has been brought up since TUTD. I loved both of those guys!!

Hi! I have all your books, lorelei to date and was so excited to recieve the email informing me ‘Cowgirls don’t cry’ was released. I downloaded the book immediately! Loved it! I too cried, laughed and loved it. It is good to read that the next titles are planned cant wait for them either. Lorelei, I just love your work, Thankyou for sharing your skill as a writer and creating characters that are real. The ending was bitter/sweet but I think the story was the better for it. Again, Thankyou. from a reader downunder! Isn’t it awesome how technology helps me to be able to purchase a title as soon as it is released and not need to wait a further year to be released in print and then a further 6 months for it to reach us here in Australia!!!!

LOVED both new installments of Rough Riders! Downloaded off Bookstore because I couldn’t wait for B&N and read in 1 day. I did buy it at B&N for my nook too because I loved the books and want them all together on my Nook! I loved Jesse and Brandt, their story was incredible. Jesse always seemed so fragile when mentioned in the other installments so to hear her story and background added depth to her. The love story itself was real and I loved how the sex was HOT but not the focus of the story. Brandt is HOT and made me teary eyed a few times. If only we could all have a man like Brandt! There seemed to be more depth to the story in this installment which I loved because it made me love the characters more! I loved the Thanksgiving scene and how we got a glimpse of the entire McKay family. Can’t wait for Rough Riders 11! There are so many more McKays waiting for their story. I loved Ben, Tell and Chase. Can’t wait for more!
