Happy Sunday from overcast Washington!
I know I’ve been MIA, so here’s the truth…I caught Covid (yes, even after being double vaxxed) a little over 2 weeks ago and spent time recovering — aka a LOT of time sleeping. I’m better, mostly, still have a cough, but I stayed home while I was contagious. I just didn’t have the brain power to do anything like writing a blog post so I’ll have time this week to put one together.
Thankfully, we were able to keep our plans of attending the makeup Avs vs Stars game in Denver on the 15th, which allowed us to see the grandbaby and her fam for a bit. Then the next day we flew to Seattle and drove up to Lynden to see D2 and her hubby and the new house they purchased! So much fun to just hang out for a few days.
We’re headed back to Denver later tonight and hopefully we’ll miss the snowstorm predicted for the area back to Rapid City.
What’s everyone been up to?

Glad you recovered from Covid quickly. I’ve been pretty much isolating all winter! But that’s given me the opportunity to get into junk journaling! I’m combining some “junk” and hand-made paper, etc, with photos and am starting to journal memories. Maybe one day my son will enjoy them when I’m gone…..

Happy to hear that your feeling better, sorry to hear that you caught Covid. I received the booster shot and still wear masks anytime I’m around others. I use my hand sanitizer every time I get back in my truck. Keep safe, keep warm.

Well, darn…TG you’re in the road to recovery.
Good to hear you were able to enjoy TBE game and visit.

Glad to hear you are recovering, I know it can be a bit frustrating but rest is the answer. My Aunt was sick with COVID for 3 weeks, no fun for her. I have been trying new baking recipes this week. Almond flour hearts, not bad and not too sweet. Feel better and get more rest!

Snow, snow and more snow. Just when it clears up we get an ice storm. (Springfield, IL) I really hate the winter. I wish it would snow 12/23 and be gone 12/26. That way we can have a white christmas and be all done with it.
P.s. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! For the beautiful book. I love it so much!

Glad to hear you are doing better. Besides working to much, me and my husband have been looking for a place to live in Arizona. I guess it is time to leave the cold weather.

So glad you are feeling better. We had Pensacon (Pensacola’s version of comic-con) here this weekend and I had so much fun. I got to meet John Barrowman. He was so awesome. It was a great weekend. I am so tried but I had tons of fun.

I was at that game! And also flying back to DIA tonight from a weekend in SF. Fingers crossed the snow doesn’t give us a hard time. Glad you feel better. Maybe if I keep my eyes open I’ll get to meet you for an autograph one day if I keep moving in these same circles 😁

Hubby got Covid too with being vaxxed fortunately I didn’t. Plenty of rest and warm fluids helped him. My cousin in Colorado not so lucky she’s been hospitalized for 4 weeks and now will be going into long term care. It scares me on how it acts so different on each person. Glad your recovering.

I’m sorry you were sick and I’m glad you’re feeling better now and got to visit family and attend a game.
I haven’t been up to much here at all besides trying to stay warm and dry and not shovel snow. Weather is weird here, today it’s supposed to be sunny and in the 50s. Great for my son on school vacation this week.
I hope you stay warm and don’t have too much snow to deal with.

Glad you’re on the mend.
Had my turn with COVID earlier this month – right at the tail end of my 3 month recuperation from knee replacement surgery. Now I’m back in the office but wishing I could have more WFH days. I’m just more productive both for work and the personal life.
Looking forward to your wrap up!

I’m glad you’re better!
I get it, I had Covid for almost 7 weeks. I have not been that sick since I had pneumonia about 16 years ago. I’m not vaxxed (not for political reasons) but have been extremely careful. My son had it Aug 2020, he lives with me and I didn’t get it from him, this was before the vax came out. Then my fully vaxxed and boosted sister in law came out here the first week of January for a week and 2 days after she went home to Maine she called me and said she got it. Two days after that I got it. I was livid I got it as I am so careful, mask up I have even worn disposable gloves when I go to the store, if I did not Instacart it and have it delivered. I have stayed home unless I have to go out for months.
The only bright spot during that 7 weeks was getting the ornament you made me. I just ordered some paper from Scrapbook.com with Ukrainian/Russian theme and hopefully I will find the perfect match so I can frame it 😀
Take Care,
Michelle

I too am sorry that you got Covid, but happy to hear you just needed some well deserved naps, especially in the winter. Like you were I am in the minority of double vaccinated and still Covid free. It is a double edge sword – get it, don’t get it?
I am trying to get my mom transferred to Assisted Living from Independent Living. Her memory took a hit these last two years w being isolated and everything else that happened at Retirement Communities. They think she needs the memory loss center (at $16,000 a month 🙀)
I am pleading, begging, and bitching to just try her in AL. Who cares if she doesn’t know what todays date is or the year?! She does crossword and jigsaw puzzles and can still subtract the number 7 down from 100 until she gets in the 50’s asking if she can please stop. Me, I need to use my fingers, she will be 88 in May. This is one way to pass up a Michigan winter.
