Western Wednesday #54

May 11, 2011

Our good friends had their big branding at their gorgeous ranch this weekend. Because of a dance recital schedule conflict, I wasn’t able to go help out with the actual work part during the day, catching and holding the calves for branding, vaccination and dehorning, after they’ve been separated from their mama’s, but I did get to go to the after party, which included good food, a great band and cold beer shared with fun friends 🙂 I’m hoping to head out there in a few weeks for the mini-branding of late calves.

I don’t know where I stumbled across this picture, but I’m sharing it with you, because it reminded me of the weather from last year’s mini branding —

Great picture! My son just said to me ‘if they are cowboys, why don’t they ride cows?’ 🙂 I love what comes out of a 5 year olds mouth! 🙂
