I spent the 4th of July at the Black Hills Roundup — a rodeo that’s held in Belle Fourche, South Dakota, with a couple of members of my beloved James Gang and their families –Tiss from Lemmon, SD, Robin from Washington and Kathy from Ellsworth Air Force Base. Kathy is an excellent photographer and got some great shots, which I’m lucky enough to post today.
The first picture is of steer wrestling, commonly known as bull doggin’.
Can you believe the dismount on this one? No, it wasn’t intentional!
And any rodeo wouldn’t be complete with a picture of those cowboy Wrangler butts framed by a set of chaps and that all important contestant number on the back.
