My good friend and groups moderator Barb Ledbetter wanted to do something special to celebrate the end of the Rough Riders series. Last year I admired her leather belt and she told me her nephew had made it. So imagine my shock, awe, tears, surprise, more tears and how humbled and grateful I felt when I opened the box containing this one of a kind leather purse that she had her nephew hand make for me. It is such a stunning piece of art work. It has the McKay brand, the rose scrolls on the stirrups and around the saddle horn and the back of the saddle, the looping font of my name, and the series name, as well as the sheepskin on the backside, inside and on the shoulder strap. Plus, I love the metal conches and it has a hoof pick to hang it up by! I have it sitting by my desk so I can admire it all day long 🙂 These pictures don’t do the craftsmanship justice, but it gives you an idea of just how special this purse is.
