Weird Start to November

November 6, 2021

By now I’m sure you all know I don’t get my previous month’s wrap-up post done until the second Saturday of the month…so it’ll be up next week. Ooh, bet you can hardly wait, huh? Hahahaha 😎

Anyway, horror of horrors, I scheduled a flu shot for myself on Halloween πŸ‘» night. No line, which wasn’t surprising πŸ˜† And we had a total of 3 trick or treaters and we bought 2 bags of candy…I tried not to eat it, but damn Snickers bars.

Then Monday I had an appointment with my lady doctor.

Tuesday I had an appointment with the dermatologist, which resulted in me getting about 25 spots frozen off and one spot biopsied and blood work done.

Wednesday I made appointments for Mr. James and I to get our J&J Covid-19 booster shot. HOLY hell did that hurt. Besides feeling a little…off…yesterday, and soreness in my arm, I’m fine today. And can I just say how freaking amazing it is to be able to walk into WalMart or Walgreens and get vaccinated?

Thursday it was back and forth with adding new medical tests into the mix — just precautionary I hope ✌

In addition to all the fun medical stuff, the guy finally started (re?)roofing our house — this is from the hail damage we received in July 2020! So lots of banging and scraping and music blaring and Copper barking every five damn minutes. Sorta hard to concentrate on NaNoWriMo, which I AM participating in this year. For those who don’t know what that is, it’s NAtional-NOvel-WRIting-MOnth which the goal is to write 50,000 words during the month, which breaks down to 1777 per day. I’ve done it in the past and I’m looking forward to jumping back in next week and making up for lost time. I’ve learned my lesson about sharing project info (looking at you Piece of My Heart) before said project is a DONE DEAL. I just figured you’d all be happy to hear my butt is in the chair and my hands are on the keyboard once again…

While I was outside, seeing what mess the roofers had left around, I noticed that my succulents had survived 2 snow storms! And oddly, they looked even better after being snowed on. So probably against my better judgement, I decided to bring the planter inside. I’ve struggled with indoor plants — they either grow like crazy or die. When our youngest was in high school, I got rid of all the live plants in the house, giving them to plant people I knew would care for them. And not having to worry about having someone to water my plants when we’re gone was a huge relief. Anyway, these succulents looked too damn good to just watch wither and die when it freezes this week, so here’s what they look like in my living room:

And the weird bonus? The aquarium frond looking ones actually release a really pleasant scent!

Since I got hardly any writing done, I did work on Christmas πŸŽ…πŸ’‚stuff…which is all I can say for now πŸ’–

Until next week, have a good one!

Your succulents look fantastic. I had a greener thumb when we lived in Wyoming.

I know what you mean about bringing plants inside. No joke, I have a black thumb. I’ve given away plants too, knowing they’d only die if I kept them.
Your plants look incredible, though. Let’s hope they make it to next year.

Certainly have been busy…what a time it has been for you.
Good luck with the biopsy! And the roofing! And NanNoWrMo!

Your succulents look great. All my indoor plants are fake, cause if there were a way to kill them, I would find a way. My outdoor plants/shrubs/trees I have a landscaper or they would also be dead and my HOA would be sending me letters constantly.

I have been catching up on the shows on my DVR and am so looking forward to Yellowstone coming back on tomorrow. Now the one show I never watched that I have been catching in reruns is “The Office” I am dying laughing at it.

I really need to start reading some of the books on my kindle, but I keep buying more books and it looks like I am collecting them.
