OK, that was like the best 13 list ever! I thought about doing Rhian’s meme for where I live. Maybe Friday.

I’ve camped in the badlands and visited Mt. Rushmore. You live in an incredible place.

Ooh, I SO want to come out and visit now!! Meet my meat at Dan’s ranch, meet a fellow writer, and explore all this… yeah, I definitely want to.

Maybe another year, when #2’s a bit older and has outgrown some of her whiny ways.

Fascinating TT. Thanks for sharing and stopping by.

Wow, I didn’t realize there was so much going on right there. Sounds like one of those road trips DH always wants to take but never takes time off for. Love your header banner too, Lorelei!

I’m so jealous. I visited SD in 2006 and I loved it. The Black Hills and the Badlands are awesome. I went to the Corn Palace and Wall Drug. I would love to live there except I don’t like extreme cold weather. How do you deal with the winters?

  14. Amy Ruttan said:

Oooh lovely I so want to go further West than Michigan. LOL!

I’ve always wanted to go to the Dakotas. My dream is to go to DeSmet and see the last place the Ingalls settled from the Little House Books.

    Great TT!!!

Looks great. Hubby is busy planning our trip next year. I’m pretty sure we’re heading into Dakota. Can’t wait.

  16. Tilly Greene said:

The Badlands view is flippin’ amazing! I’ve been to Mount Rushmore – unfortunately the only bit I remember is from the pictures taken. See, sometimes wonderful places like this are wasted on a kid – I need to come back!

I’ve lived 60 miles from South Dakota for the last 12 years, but this summer was the first time I got to go exploring. The Black Hills are absolutely gorgeous!

My wedding band is Black Hills Gold. Plain yellow gold is boring, IMO.

Thanks for sharing such lovely photos..esp. the rodeo cowboys…

Rhian – my word verification? Worsening travelers – no kidding, who’s snickering now, baby?

Everyone – thanks for the comments on my home turf, especially those unfortunate souls who don’t know about our beautiful state – come visit! And those of you who’ve been here before? Whatcha waitin’ for? Come back!

Robin, 60 miles from SD? which direction? WY? MT? ND? NE? MN? IA?

LA – where in SD did you live?

Tee hee, I can’t believe Shelley, who’s been EVERYWHERE hasn’t been here –

    Kelly – you’re welcome :0

Susan – neener neener – I drove by Dan’s ranch last week! Oh man is it gorgeous out there.

Amy – my grandparents lived 60 miles from Desmet so I was in that area often. In fact, LIW is probably my biggest writing influence.
