Redneck Romeo by Lorelei James
Series: Rough Riders, Book 15
Publisher: Samhain Publishing
Genre: Contemporary, Erotic Romance
Length: 405 pages
Summary:
The last McKay standing is knocked to his knees…
Rough Riders, Book 15
Three years ago, Dalton McKay looked across the altar and saw the woman he knew he’d love for the rest of his life…only it wasn’t his bride. That’s when he took the McKays’ love-’em-and-leave-’em reputation to new heights—fleeing the ceremony and Wyoming.
Now a family issue has brought Dalton back to Sundance, giving him a chance to prove to everyone—especially the woman he thought he lost—that he’s a changed man.
Aurora “Rory” Wetzler has fallen for cowboy hottie Dalton’s smooth-talkin’ ways too many times. So he’s determined to convince her he’s playing for keeps this go around? Fine. She’ll call that bluff—she can’t ignore their intense chemistry or resist smokin’ hot sex, but she’s not willing to gamble her heart again.
Dalton has plenty of fences to mend with the McKays, but his biggest fear is that Rory doesn’t believe they have a future. He’ll have to pull out all the stops to show her they belong together for the long haul.
Product Warnings
Contains a sexy cowboy who tames his sassy lady love with his romantic and his kinky side. In explicit detail.
Slick from Guilty Pleasures: Since I just finished reading Redneck Romeo about the last McKay man standing, Dalton, I have to ask who will be the focus of book 16 and is that truly the end? Because I have to tell you having Ky driving and into girls is going to open up a whole can of worms about when the kid’s stories are going to be told.
No fun, I know, but no comment on Rough Riders book 16 yet…I’ll clue you all in a bit further down the road. I get a bajillion questions about why I’m ending the Rough Riders series at book 16. And yes, I could probably write a second generation of McKays (Love Love Love my readers but you guys are driving me insane with the “When will you write Boone and Sierra’s book?! Crazy rabid fans, I keep threatening that if you keep nagging me it’ll be…never — ha ha, yet I’d never do that because I want to know what happens too!) but I’ve always considered this series a western saga that DOES have an end. I’ve been fortunate that I’ve been allowed to write the books how I want, at the pace I want, with the subject matter I want–all with 100% publisher support. That is rare. Since the books have such a great following, there is that mindset to continue to “cash in” on the popularity of the series and characters. But I won’t do that because at what point do the new books just become a rehash of the older books? I’d much rather end the series on a high note, at the height of popularity than wait until the series might be considered “tired” and I start to lose readers. Plus, I have lots of ideas, situations, characters and areas to explore in other fictional worlds. I hope readers come along for the ride.
I’m celebrating the release of REDNECK ROMEO with a SEVEN day party. SEVEN great giveaways, SEVEN different posts. Stop by all the amazing blogs participating in the party to increase your chances to win!!! Each blog will post a special REDNECK ROMEO post all seven days (no weekend posts).

While I hate the series is almost over I respect that you are ending on your terms and not milking our devotion to this series.

I read it and I loved it! Dalton and Aurora’s story was wonderful, I couldn’t put it down! Thanks too for keeping us updated on what is going on with the rest of the McKay family! I do hope this isn’t the end of the series, I would miss them too much. We still need to know Sierra’s story and it looks like the next generation are growing up fast enough to have stories of their own! If you keep writing them, I will keep reading them! Thanks Lorelei!

I love all the hot McKays and will miss them. There are few books I’ve ever re-read, but I admit, I have re-read some of the Rough Riders. So that is saying something about what I think of the McKays.
However, I don’t have kids, and have no interest in stories about the kids and prefer my H/h be mature. If stories about the kids are written, I would read them to get a glimpse of what is going on with the McKays, but not a burning issue with me.
Knowing you have ideas for other books/series whets my appetite and makes me very anxious to see what else you have up your sleeve.

I’ll be so sad to say goodbye to the McKays when all is said and done…..but as long as LJ creates some new characters to fall in love and lust with, I will always be a hardcore fan. And of course I will re-read all the books whenever I really start to miss the characters. Thank you for such a wonderful ride!

It’s been one hell of a ride with the McKays, Lorelei, but as long we get Boone & Sierra, I think fans will be happy. I know I will be!

Good for you for knowing what is best for your livelihood and your sanity. Believe me once you decide a chapter of your life is closed, you’ll just make yourself nuts by forcing yourself to stay there. If I want to visit the McKay family, then a reread is in order. Write what you care about. With your skill, you’ll always have loyal followers.

Yes! I can’t wait to keep hearing what happens with everyone 🙂

I look forward to see what you come out with next. Sorry to see this series come to an end, but I know I have quite reading other authors books for dragging out a series so long that all the stories seemed the same.

I will be sad to see the McKays go, but completely understand. I’ve loved them all, including the Wild West Boys. At least there are enough books that I can read them over and over without feeling like I’m stuck watching Groundhog Day. 🙂

I am so sad about Book 16 as it feels like the McKays are friends but the idea of more Lorelei books is great.

On one hand I’m sad to see the end of the series. On the other hand I rarely follow series past book four or five. That I’ve continued to read the Rough Riders beyond that is a testament to your writing and that the books are still fresh and different. I commend you on this decision and can’t wait to see what you will have next for us!

I know we keep bugging you, but the McKays are like and addiction. I will be sad to see the end, but I’m happy you didn’t just drag it on till the stories became repeats with different names.
