Happy Thursday! I know I don’t normally post today, but I’ve got an ARC (advanced reader copy) of the first book, CORRALLED, in my Blacktop Cowboys series, to give away to some lucky random commenter!


There’s no catch, nothing to sign up for (but I do have a newsletter in case you wanted to get the lowdown on future releases) — just leave a comment, telling me if you’ve ever been to a rodeo.


That’s it. Seriously.

    I have been to a rodeo. I worked in the main office at the Ellensburg Rodeo when I was in college, it was so much fun! I’d love to make it to the NFR one year.

    I have never been to a rodeo. I have been to a farm show but I don’t think that counts! 🙂 I do watch them on tv sometimes. I love this book cover, BTW!

    I grew up in Austin, Tx and the rodeo came every year in march around my birthday! So we always celebrated it then! I remember one time we went to the rodeo on my birthday and saw Toby Keith! One of my best birthdays.

    I’ve been to several small town rodeo’s. I live in Pensacola, FL and one of our local school’s, Tate High School, sponsors a rodeo every year has a fundraiser. It’s a huge hit here and we go every year.

    As the daughter of a western SD cowboy, I grew up at the rodeo. My dad use to take me up in front of him as he would warm up his horse. I love rodeos! =)

    I have never been to a rodeo. However, I am a great fan of Western films and books. Two of my favorite older TV movies have a rodeo theme.

    “Rodeo Girl” with Katharine Ross: “Sammy Garrett, the wife of a champion rodeo performer, is tired of her subsidiary role at home as a housewife. So she becomes an aspiring rodeo rider herself, encouraged by her one-time performer mother and eventually confronts her new lifestyle despite her husband’s disapproval.     “Goldenrod” with Tony Lo Bianco: “A champion rodeo rider receives crippling injuries in the ring, resulting in the ending of his career. When his wife deserts him, he’s left with the responsibility of raising two young sons with no job and no prospects.”

    I love both of these movies, and I highly recommend them! It’s been a long time since I have seen either film, and I would love to see them again!

    “Corralled” sounds terrific, and without question, the cover is GORGEOUS : )

    I’m a city girl too, and have never been to a rodeo, and what I’ve seen on tv looks dangerous as hell, but I do listen to my local country and western station, love the twang …does that count for anything? Super excerpt, looking forward to the book.

    I have been to many rodeos. Love going to the PBR and if it is showing to far away I just watch it on TV. Never get bored with watching cowboys.

    I’ve only seen the local county fair’s version of some rodeo events. I do buy advertising for the Lion’s club yearly rodeo fund raiser, they give me a pair of tickets, but never made it out there.

    Rodeo is where it’s at!!! We attend many during the year but our favorite is going to Sioux Falls and being a part of the Make A Wish foundation night of the NBRT Bull Riding. Awesome organization!!!

    But every year the family attends the rodeo at the stock show. Working my way to attending the finals one year.

    Hubby and I would love to attend one someday. The best friend of my hubby’s father – cowboy Leo – taught my hubby the love for all things cowboy 🙂 Still these events aren’t standard in the Netherlands.

    Hi Lorelei, yes, I have been to quite a few. Bob was in a few rodeos when he was 19-20ish. Need to look those pix up. It is Summer Fest time here this week. then the Rodeo comes to town. Can not wait!

    I love going to the Rodeo, it is not on a big scale. In fact the North Washington Rodeo is next month… Love going and cheering on those cowboys. We usually have a ladies night out to go one of the nights.

    No rodeo’s in Missouri that I know of, at least not near St. Louis, I don’t know that I’d like one or not, But I have read some books about it and the men who ride sound so HOT!

    Yep. Ive been to a rodeo. I’ve also been to the monster truck rodeo. I live in Montgomery County, Maryland and they feel it necessary to have one at the county fair every year. :X

    Gosh that cover is nice! I have been to many rodeos. My family used to go every year. I admit that as a preteen I used to sit in the stands and whine that they were being mean to the poor little calves. I bet my mother just wanted to know me over the head LOL. 🙂 I’m really looking forward to this series!!

    I have never been to a Rodeo. Living in South Florida there isn’t much of a chance to see one. I have always loved the romance set in or around Rodeo life, although I am sure it is far from a romantic life a very hard and tough world.

    I was very young , maybe 9 when I attended the only Rodeo I have ever been to. But yet I remember cowboys,jeans hats and horses.Certainly I’d love to go to a Rodeo now because I sure would appreciate it in a way I couldn’t then. 🙂

    No, never been at a rodeo event but it´s on my to do list when I, sometime, visit US. We don´t have rodeos in Sweden but western riding is getting real big here.
    Been bullriding though…on a really nice bull my grandfather gave me when I was 10. I even used a home made saddle on him 🙂
    Keep on writing, I have all your books and having a hard time waiting for the next.

    Hi! I love rodeo, but only really see it when I go to the National Western Stock Show. . usually annually, but missed it this year. I even went to one in Lancaster Co., PA as a kid. . which was rather surreal.

    I went to a rodeo in Gainsville, TX once when I was in high school. Although I had my senior prom at the rodeo in Mesquite, TX there wasn’t a rodeo going on at the time. I really enjoyed the rodeo except for the smells. Pee Eww!

    My hometown is Kissimmee, FL and we would go to the rodeo every year when it came to town. Most people think of DisneyWorld when they think of Kissimmee, not me or my sisters. For us it was the rodeo and those hunky cowboys.

    It is wild to see all the cowboys around and since I have been reading your books I look at them in a totally different perspective. yee haw.

    Yes, I have been to quite a few. I lived in a little town by North Platte so we went to Nebraskaland days every year. I hadn’t went to a rodeo in about 13 years & went to the National Western Stock show for the first time ever this year. The boys had a blast. Would love to go to Cheyene Frontier days? Have lived within hours of that my whole life but have never went.

    I’ve been to the rodeos a couple times in my life but the one i remember the most and the best is when we took our kids to one a few years ago. It was their first one and they were bouncing up and down in their seats screaming and yelling and cheering them all on. I will always remember the looks on their faces. Well and the yummy cowboys of course. LOL!

    My dad took me and my little sister to the rodeo when I was about 11. I remember he bought us these bright pink cowboy hats that we never wore again after that rodeo, but I had a great time seeing all the different events.

    We have lots of small town rodeos around here all summer long that we always support. We usually always hit the Dodge Circut Finals in ID. And try to get to Vegas every other year for the FInals. Love them!!!

    I have never been to the rodeo. I was hoping we would be in Deadwood around Wild Bill Days so we could see some of the festivities but unfortunately our travel plans didn’t work out. My friends said they will take me to the Rodeo the is close by in New Jersey but it just won’t be the same!

    Hi have been to alot of rodeos, my husband is the local rodeo announcer around these parts. This is where i pick out what my characters look like in my rodeo books that i read. There are some smoking hot riders there and they are yummy to think about.

    I have been to a rodeo but it was MANY years ago and I don’t think we stayed for the whole thing. I went with my dad & one of his friends. Maybe it is time for me to go to one…

    Can’t wait for this book – Aug 3 cannot get here soon enough. Of course, since I am taking a vacay on 7/28, it would be nice to have my copy to take with me. HINT, HINT!!! : )

    Well you know I’ve been to rodeo’s all my life, particpated it them even. I won tickets todat to the bronc riding at Seven Downs in Spearfish Friday night!

    A very long time ago in my teenage life I went to an amateur rodeo, not the PBR or anything. I just sent my daughter to the Calgary Stampede with instructions to bring her mother back a sexy cowboy, or at least a few pics. Here’s hoping he fits in her luggage for the flight home as I prefer the real thing.

    I’ve lived in Oklahoma or Texas all my life, and rodeos are practically a religion in my family. My hometown rodeo is the second weekend of august…so just around the corner. Add to that all the neighboring towns’ rodeos, and there is one a week for almost all of august and september!

    I have never been to a rodeo, which is sad because I have lived in Texas for 16 years. But after reading your books I am planning on going to one soon.

    I do go to horse shows for my daughter who rides for therapy for CP. It is amazing seeing what a horse can do for children with disabilities.

    Ahhh. When I was younger, many years ago, My girlfriend and I would go to the rodeo when it was in town, Cincinnati, OH. I don’t know which circut it was, but boy, oh boy there where some cute cowboys. We would talk in horse-code about cute cowboy butts.lol
