Hi,
I have to say I think I’m addicted to your Rough Riders series. I only recently found out about it and have read all of them except Raising Kane (which I’m about to start now) within the last 2-3 weeks. I absolutely love the emotional elements, realness to the characters as well as their lifestyle. Being a cowgirl stuck in Ohio, they just make me wish I could move out West and find me a cowboy even more haha. Curious, though if you can’t say yet I understand, whose story is Slow Ride?
Thanks for all of the great books and can’t wait to start on your other series as well!
Two Rough Riders Books coming out this November… I can’t wait!!!!!!
I would love to read Carson and Carolyn McKay love story. We got to learn a lot about them in Branded As Trouble during a conversation Carson has with Colt. It just made me want to read more about them.
I LOVE the Rough Riders series! You are proably my favorite author. Your books are hot, of course, but they all have an emotional pull that I find is rare. I can’t wait for November and the new books. Also, as someone else stated, I would love to hear more about Carson and Carolyn, too!~
I know she’s not a McKay, but she’s made various appearances and you briefly touched up on her in Branded As Trouble. Are you planning on writting a book starring Doc Moroe?
I read all of your Rough Rider books in about 7 days times. I cannot wait for Slow Ride and Cowgirls Don’t Cry to come out. I would also like to see a story for Doc Monroe
I love, love, love all your books. Always being somewhat of a “city girl” (from Ohio)your stories bring a whole new adventure to my reading. I look forward to each one. My only complaint is that there is not a new one to read right away after I finish your latest. THANKS:)
I am fairly new to the Rough Riders but I absolutely LOVE them all!! I am starting on Cam’s book now, but did read all the others so far twice- just to be sure I didn’t miss anything:) I cannot wait for all the new books to come out. I am totally moving to Wyoming for a cowboy treasure hunt!!
I have to say I agree that Doc Monroe deserves a story but in my mind I have her ending up with Chet and Remy and they are West Boys so they will be in the West series not in the Rough Rider series. No, I don’t have inside information it’s just a “feeling” I get when I read and re-read the books. It’s things that Doc Monroe has said that makes me think that it might happen. Just as I’m waiting for Ramona’s story, she’s a West and it will be awhile before that happens. But, I can wait because it will be worth it.
Now, Carson and Carolyn’s story would be very interesting and again in my head it will come when Lorelei begins the next generation of McKay stories(the offspring of the current McKay children) and it will be told in flashbacks during a heath crisis for either Carson or Carolyn.
As you can all probably tell, I think way too much about this series and these families. I swear the next time I travel to Wyoming, (which will be next September) I will probably be looking for them. There is just something about these books that stick with me. Lorelei is a very gifted writer. To be honest out of all the books I’ve read in all my lifetime she ranks in the top 3 authors. She just weaves tales that leave you wanting more and more and more.
I love the Rough Riders series so much I am reading them all again a second time, before the latest ones come out. Question: I’m on ‘Should’ve been a cowboy’ Libby McKay makes a comment to Domini about how she can’t even have one baby, but she ended up pregnant at the end of ‘Strong Silent Type’, which I just finished. Did I read it in the wrong order?
Sarah, to answer you question. You did not read them out of order, but the epiloge to SSS take place 6 months after the original story is set. This is after the BBQ scene at the end of SHBAC, which Libby does indeed say that that she is having problems having a baby. He and Again, she found out she was preggers after that. SHBAC is the next in order, since its epiloge then skips a year in advance after its main story and sets up the timeframe for AJU. Does this make sense? I hope I did not confuse you. Lorelei, guess what? I have internet at my house now, but I will still pester you.
I would LOVE to read abook about Carolyn and Carson too. Like during their wedding anniversary, it could flash back to how they started out. Especially with how the Wests hated the McKays.
Have now re-read all the Rough Rider Series, the West Family series and am beginning on the new series with “Corralled”–also got the single titles as well. Have reviewed most of them on my blog, but I am impressed that even knowing so much of each story and how each one ends up, I find them interesting the second time around. Am really looking forward to Jesse/Brandt’s story–thought from the get-go that their involvement was just a little too intense to not result in a book. I thought, then, that Luke was a schmuck. Good to know my instincts are still alive and well. I know 10 books are lots in a single series, but would like more of that West family connection as well. Thanks for sharing your talent with us.
I just want to point out that I absolutely LOOOOVE your books! All of them. I cannot wait until Cowgirls Don’t Cry comes out and it’s only 4 days away!! I just feel the need, as an avid and devoted reader, to point out that in ‘Raise Kane’ (book 9) Keely McKay is read as being single, however, in book 8 ‘All Jacked Up’, she gets engaged to Jack Donahue. Just thought I’d point that little mishap out. Thanks again for giving us wonderful, enchanting books to read!
Cassie,
Read the author’s note at the beginning of Raising Kane:
“Although this is Rough Riders book 9, it takes place between the epilogue of book 7, Shoulda Been a Cowboy, and book 8, All Jacked Upâ?¦”
I just wanted to congratulate you on the realease of two awesome books. Once again you’ve captured your fans and went beyond our expectations. I didn’t want CDC to end and was hoping if I scrolled down enough there’d be more, back to waiting. Think I’ll restart the series again.
Your books always take me to Wyoming and I feel like I know The McKay’s and the West family. I have read all of the books twice. I find that Jessie and Brandt’s story made made me cry both times. I enoy reading everything you write and you have ruined me of other authors. You are very gifted and thank you for sharing that with us. Can’t wait for the next one.
Hey Bev, if you go into the main page of Lorelei’s website and at the very bottom she has a link to her yahoo group. If you join her group she fills you in on a lot stuff. Tidbits about her upcoming books, already published books and her life. You should check it out. In one of her posts she said who the next two books are going to be about.
Just found the Rough Rider Series while looking on Amazon. Can’t wait to get started downloading to my Kindle! I have your site bookmarked on my computer now!
O M G, I just read all the RR books over the last 2 weeks. I finished on Sun and I’m so depressed. I miss my cowboys. Can’t wait until the next one comes out.
Oh, and I really enjoyed Coralled. So HOT!
Thanks Lorelei!!!!!!
I love Rough Riders!!! I would love to see Tel, Dalton, and Chases stories too! Also Carson and Carolyn would great as well! Just love love love them!!!
I just wanted to let you know I LOVEEEE the Rough Riders series…I finished all the books in one month. You’re awesome!!! But is this series over?? =( or we get to read some more.!!!=)
I just finished reading “Cowgirls Don’t Cry” and my stomach is in knots. I LOVE the series, this city girl ( London UK ), thinks with the recession in stock maybe my professional and personal skills would be appericated more in the West regions much better .
The start of the year people usually head to the self help section of a bookstore. I advised anyone to put down “Eat,Love,Pray” “The Secret” and other such books and get a hold of the Rough Riders series instead. Thank you Lorelie for such a dynamic series, trust you’ve given my mother home she WILL get a grandchild soon.
PS Oh and I am offically out of the County music lover closet at last, my ipod has never been so happy.
Okay. First of all, I just wanted to say a big big thank you for writing the Rough Riders Series. It is most certainly one of the best I have ever read. Loved Jessie and Brandt’s story and can’t wait for other books to come! I would really like to know if there will be the series about the new McKay generation? Just love them all.
LOVE THE NEW BLACKTOP COWBOYS SERIES!!! Thanks L for adding to our cowboy fix! Can’t wait for March 1, but then I have a meeting in the afternoon and can’t spent the whole day reading it. I’m going to savor it and then be waiting for the next one in the series!
I have to say this was one of my all time favorite book series. I am not even sure how I came upon the first book, but I am so glad I did. I read them all a few months ago but last month I started rereading them. I am torn on which story is my favorite. I LOVE Colt and Channing, Cord and AJ, Keeley and Jack. Will you be writing one about any of the other cousins?? Also, I would LOVE to read Dr. Monroe’s story. I see her with Chase.
I loved reading your Rough Riders series. I read them all in one week!
I live in U.K and have downloaded Rough Riders from U.K Amazon onto my Kindle. Why is your new Blacktop Cowboys Series only available to download in US?
PLEASE PLEASE try and get this sorted as I’m dying to read your new series on my kindle, I travel a lot and don’t have room to carry books.
Aleta, I’m guessing Chasin’ Eight would be about Chase McKay? If I’m guessing from the name that is.
Lorelei, love the series and like many stumbled across it and read all 10 books in a matter of weeks. I couldn’t put them down! I have to find me a cowboy like these wild McKays!!
I can’t wait for Doc Monroe’s or Ramona’s story
I’m from Oz and am disappointed that I can’t download the Blacktop series onto my kindle too so please make it available outside the US, after all I do need something to keep my entertained until June
Just finished Wrangled & Tangled and LOVED IT! I think I am loving this new series MOAR than the McKay which I just didn’t think was possible.
So I am waiting for baited breath for the next installments of both series now. Tell me the next Blacktop cowboys one is going to be Kyle and Ceclia, right? Pretty please??
I love the Rough Riders books. keep them coming.I’m super excited for Tell ‘s story! a character I would like to read about is Ramona West I miss her she kinda just disappeared?
LORELEI JAMES!! THE BEST EROTIC ROMANCE WRITER EVER!!! I NEVER READ until I found out about your books. Now, I read all the time. Your couples are so real and I love your exciting storylines that keep me wanting to read even after the story is over. I never want them to end. You are AWESOME!! Thanks so much! I’ve already finished Cowboy Casanova. Can’t believe I have to wait 6 mos until # 13 comes out. Boy howdy will it be much anticipated!! Cannot wait!! Rough Riders series is sooo good!!
I have read all of the rough riders series. I had Cowboy Casanova finished in about 3 days in between life (work and home). I am curious as to the fact if the only west books out are Mistress Christmas and the other one which I cant remember off the top my head.
First I want to say I love your books, can’t stop reading them. Second I was just curious you have tentative release dates for the Rough Riders series, but do you have any idea when your next Blacktop Cowboy book will be released?
First let me say your books are great! I think I read somewhere that there were supposed to be 16 books total in this series. Is this right? If so, PLEASE reconsider! There are so many other storylines alive in this series already and just think about the next generation! I would love to see this family love each other and continue to grow!
I agree with Mary J. I have read all your books and think they are great. I hate to see the Rough Rider series end. Is their any chance that the series will be continued past the 16 books? Are you going to continue with the West family? I also really enjoy the Blacktop Cowboys also.
I first read your work with the free RR book and I was hooked. I immediately went and bought all the available books at the time and have pre-ordered the last two. I look forward to the new ones in 2012 and agree with the previous comments. Please reconsider finishing this series. I think I have all your books to date except the Blacktop series because I can’t afford 10.00 a book right now. But I will get them eventually. Thank you for the many hours of enjoyment!
I agree with all the above. I love the RR books and hate to think that the series will end. I hope there will be more wild west stories, I really want to read Chet and Remy’s story and Ramona’s. Have wanted to learn more about Chet and Remy since book 4 and became even more curious about them in Keely and Jacks story Book 8. Love the black top series too. Keep up the good work. Liv
I would love to see Ramona get some loving from a couple of hot cowboys…Any reason she can’t follow in her cousin Chassie’s footsteps..and let’s not forget Brock Cam’s friend…or Doctor Joely..Come on Lorelei..we can see at least two or three more books here…<3 I love your books..I hope to hear from you..
OH? and……….or you can always connect the Black Top Cowboys with Rough Riders in some way..like maybe Ramona and one of the friends hanging around the Lawson Ranch.. but not Ike he’s gonna end up with Nancy..I feel it…lol
HELLO FROM NIGERIA! I absolutely love your books!!! Please do not stop the RR series. They are amazing. Makes me wanna be a cowgirl and fall in love with a cowboy. I also love the blacktop series! Thank you for all your hard work!!
I love the RR series and I lookin forward to the next book with Tell McKay hoping he ends with Doc Monroe. Not sure about Gavin love story or who he will end up with, but Dalton I’m thinking someone from the wrong side of the track maybe; not ask good looking as the rest of the McKay women, but has a enter beauty.
Just rereading Cowboy Cassanova, gotta say its just as good if not better the second time round. Looking forward to ANYTHING you may write, but was wondering if you are going to find someone for the doc – Joelle Munroe?? she seems a little lonely in Cowboy Cassanova
I absolutely love all of these books, every story, every line and I agree with the other ladies, there are enough McKays to go generations. As much as young love is hot and steamy, I would love to see a resolution for Joan and Casper. Even if they just end up civil with each other I think Casper has a lot of apologizing and Joan needs to finally have some love. Even if it is grown up love. Or better yet a little flash back of how the original McKays came to be. Brock definitely, Just …. I babblin’ Thank you for the series and may there be many more.
I agree too that u shouldn’t stop at 16 books there r still people like Chet, Remy, Ramona, and Leif what has happened with them? Please reconsider your decision. You r my favorite author and this is by far my favorite series ever!!!
Just wanted to make a comment on Branded as Trouble. I have never been around anyone addicted to drugs/drink, that I know of. I found it very interesting to read about Colt & India’s day by day approach to their addictions. To crave something, that deeply, everyday for the rest of your life, must be pure torture. Just want to say, I respect people who can beat their addictions and can see how easy getting addicted would be and how hard it would be to overcome it. So Thank You, Ms James for opening my eyes to a subject I was totally ignorant on!

Liv

Are you going to write something about Doc Monroe? Her interaction with Skylar led me to believe you would eventually.
