A member of my James Gang took these awesome pictures of the John Lopez buffalo sculpture in front of the Dakotah Steakhouse (one of my favorite restaurants in Rapid City). Not only is John is an amazing sculptor and a great guy, he’s the embodiment of a South Dakota rancher and a genuine cowboy. I love every one of his uniquewestern pieces and wish I could buy them all

Makes me think of the artwork Carter McKay would create. What an incredible talent. Would love to see it in person.

I personally know John Lopez. Come to Lemmon, SD to the Grand River Museum and see more of this work and also the dinasauer bones found along the Grand River in South Dakota.
